the layers series

Layers are how we as geologists observe the passage of time. They archive events and catalogue sequences.

There is always a mystery revealed beneath layers. This is true for rock and people: a fossil, a vein of gold, an extinction event, skin, a soul.

The layers series depicts important pivotal climate and tectonic events from the planet's distant past. An outcrop of stone jutting from the Earth with a story to tell, stylized in a way that you can share what you've learned with the world.

Layers hold and held the source of one of the grandest challenges of our era. Carbon in the form of oil and gas. They also will be key in the fight for a sustainable, just future. Up to 25% of CO2 emissions since the Industrial Revolution have come from deforestation and soil degradation. What if we could turn back the clock?

We are using layers to fight back. A colossal 50% of profits for each sale of apparel from the layers series goes to The Nature Conservancy, the gold standard for forest and soil restoration globally.
